Alaskan Cruise

Grant and I just got back from an Alaskan cruise for his parents 5oth anniversary. I have to admit it wasn’t my favorite place to go, but it was beautiful. My favorite part was watching the whales bubble feed. They only do it 2 weeks out of the year. Bubble feeding is when about 8 Hump Back Whales circle around the fish and stun them with their sounds and then they all come up at once with their mouths open. It was amazing. Loved it!

Glacier Bay

Getting ready to sight see in Juneau!

My favorite was watching the whales.

Playing games until the early hours was a blast.

A picture from our verandah.

We stayed a couple of days with Grant's sister in Oregon. It was beautiful. We saw more grey whales ans saw tons of flower farms. I loved this one. The flowers were huge and they had cool names. This picture makes me laugh. I told them to sit down in the flowers. They look really awkward.

First Day of School!

Ahhh.....Look how cute they are on their first day of school.. I can't believe I have a 16 year-old and two 13 year-olds. Times goes by so fast! I love who they have become and I am so grateful they are in my life.

Bre's Sweet Sixteen Party!

Christy,Bre, and AmyMy girl is all grown up! She wanted to have her uncle take her and her friends to Pineview for a day of playing in the water. It was a blast!

Grant and Shane having as much fun as the teenagers!

Birthday Girl!

What? You almost cut off your hand!

So... Austin heads off to his first Scout camp for a week. On the very first day while widdling with his knife he slipped and cut his finger enough to land him at the local hospital with five stitches. Apparently his leaader saw the blood and almost passed out. Here is the damage when he got home! Crazy kid! Of course in church, the following Sunday, all the boys talked about it in their testimonies. We heard over and over again how Austin got stitches and they stunk!

Summer is over already??

I thought summer was to lay around and relax....not the case this year. I don't think I have ever worked so hard in my life. It flew by way too fast. Again it has been a month since my last entry. I hoping now that school has started it will slow down. Crazy huh? So we last left off with Grant, Breanna and I heading out on Pioneer Trek at the end of July. Grant and I got called as Ma and Pa 3 weeks before. It was an amazing experience with blisters to prove it. Here are some pics.
Bre is packing her families cart!My family is ready to hit the road.
After 10 miles of pulling and pushing we were able to soak our feet! Boy did that feel good on the blisters. Our daughter Rachel was so worn out.

Grant taking the video under the cart! The womens pull was so much harder than I remember, but there was such an amazing feeling among us. Hearing the men singing "Come Come Ye Saints "at the top of the hill brought tears to my eyes. After 17 miles this meal was the best meal I had ever tasted!
Sleeping among the cow pies!
Good morning sleepy head!
On our second day we were able to wash our hair and play some games! Boy did it feel good!

Jacob, me, Caroline, and Ben.

One of my favorite memories was dancing in the Hoe down. Some had way too much fun as you can see in the video!Solo time was a time for us to go out on our own and reflect on our lives and this pioneer expereince. It was a chance to talk to our Heavenly Father, write in our journal, or read scriptures. It was a chance to soul search.

Our Cute, hard working family!Ready to go home!
Last Day....Last Time pulling the cart!It was a tradition for Pa's to carry the Ma's over the last creek!Woodland Park Ward after our Trek!
It was very touching to see all of the parents waving white handkercheifs as we pulled into the church. It must be a small bit of how the pioneers felt when they reached the valley. I have become a better person because of this amazing event. It will never be forgotten.
