Ward Valentines Dance!

I am the activities chairman in our ward and I decided to have a family Valentines Dance.  We hired a DJ and we danced a ton of fun line dances as well as we danced to favorite songs like YMCA, Thriller, and The Hokey Pokey.  We had a Blast!  Of course I was sad Grant wasn't their, but Austin made sure I was never dancing alone.
Here the Bishop Bric is leading us in the actions for YMCA!
Here we are strutting our stuff down the line.
Marissa, Austin, and Austin have the cat walk down.
Here are the youth trying to teach me the Miley Cyrus's Hoe down dance. I look really little next to these huge guys.

Cook Elementary School Read-a-thon Assembly

Our school had a read-a-thon this last week and each class decided on a reading goal. Our class agreed that they would read 10,000 minutes. If they reached this goal by the end of the week then our class would receive a prize. Our class chose to have their prize be to give Mrs. Price and me a make over with crazy hair and wild make-up. We had it done in front of the entire school. It was so fun to see the kids so excited. I was so proud of their hard work and their determination to reach their goal. Here are some before and after pictures of me and Tori. Tori is one of my best friends and my team teacher.
The kids are just getting started.
Jodi, Tori and myself were the only teachers that would do this crazy of a stunt.  It was a blast!  I love the people I work with!  If you can't let go and be crazy sometimes..... life can be really boring.
I love this picture!  We look crazy!!!!! It took me hours to get all the lip stick off and wash my hair, but it was worth it.

Stitches for Austin!

Austin was working at The Castle and was taking out the last bag of garbage. As he was walking out to the dumpster the bag was swinging and it must have had glass in it because it sliced right through his leg as it swung down. I wasn't working the event, but I didn't need to worry because the people I work with our like my family. They literally picked him up and drove him to the ER. The Prows family were so sweet to Austin!
14 stitches later and it looks really good!  The doctor was so sweet!  He was the same doctor who stitched me up when I sliced my hand open after opening some cat food.  He is amazing. He is missing two of his middle fingers, but you would never know it by his work. He let Austin take home all the instruments he used for a keep sake.  Pretty cool!

Pesident's Day!

It had been a rough weekend and I  cried a lot so we decided to have a little fun on President's Day.  We agreed it was time to visit the Speed Street raceway near our house.  What an experience. You get your own license (mine race name was Honey) and you qualify for the race.  Then you race 15 laps.  There were 10 of us and Bre, Austin and I came in the at the top 4.  Bre took second.  She was amazing!  Of course I would have come in a little sooner if my daughter had not of cut me off.  Now the funny part is that we were just getting out of our race cars when the power went out to the whole block.  We were so happy we got to finish our race, but the people behind us weren't that excited about standing in the dark.  We also went to dinner at Applebees.  It's so fun to be with my kids.  They make me laugh! I'm lucky to be their mom. By the way that is Angela my other daughter(Really Niece) with us.
Here we are ready to head out to satisfy our need for speed!

Valentines Day!

Valentines can be hard if you don't have your Valentine near, but we survived.  We made pink waffles and excahnged Valentines.  We were able to Skype with Grant and open some of the Valentines he sent us and we sent him.  It was not the same, but it was better then nothing.  We also got a special surprise when we found out that Grant gave a special Valentines shout out to us from Afghanistan during  the Daytona 500. It was pretty cool!
Bre is always posing for the camera.
Peekaboo and Boo seem to like Valentines.

Bre and her baby!

Things sure have changed since I was in High School. To teach us what it was like to be in charge of a baby they gave us an egg to watch.  Now days they give the kids a baby that looks real and is programmed to cry, burp, eat, and giggle.  The mother has a bracelet and swipes it across the baby's chest so the baby knows she is his mother.  Bre had to take it everywhere with us.  She even took it with her to the store where she had to change the baby's diaper in the dressing room. All of her caring is recorded and then downloaded on to a computer that will give her a grade.  They can even record if you shake the baby too hard and give it baby shaken syndrome.  Bre was ready to give it back after it woke everyone up 3 times during the night. To be honest....I was happy to see it go too. It kinda of creeped me out!

Basketball Season!

Basketball season just isn't the same without Grant coaching.  Austin has played really well. His team didn't have a lot of height so Austin played center this year.  Not his strongest position, but he has played his heart out. I am so proud of him.  He is an amazing boy! He is convienced I am his good luck charm.  He has lost every game I wasn't there.  He is so cute!  I love him!
