Grant Loves To Referee Football!

Grant can't seem to get enough of refereeing football and it shows. He was chosen as the only first year referee to referee a High School varsity football game. I am so proud of him. He is a natural. He says when he referees it relaxes him. Go figure?! Having a stand full of people yelling at you...I can't quit go there, but whatever floats your boat! Who knows maybe he could relax refereeing a college football game. LOL Here he is with his crew. Isn't he so cute!

Perfect Weekend!

You know when you have one of those weekends when you just play like you know you should and it feels good. Yep...you know what I mean. Well we had one of those weekends. It started out with Austin and Marissa Performing in their first band concert. The grandparents loved it. We were so proud of them. We all went out for ice cream after.

Cute Marissa on Flute!

Austin on percussion. Austin wouldn't look at the camera because his friends were watching.

Then it was off to Frightmares at Lagoon. What a blast! I have never been during Frightmares. I loved the atmosphere. the haunted houses were lame, but I loved the Sky Coaster. It was the most adrenaline I have had in a while. They strap you into a harness and lift you up 150 feet and then you pull a cord and free fall until the cord catches and you swing out over Lagoon. I had to pull the cord and I am not too proud to tell you that my hand was shaking. But it was worth it. Bre and her two friends also did it. Check out the video.

The girls really liked Austin! Yikes!

The next day we got up and went to the BYU game with my Brother Shane, his boys, and my mother. What a perfect day for a football game. and to top it all off BYU won.

After the game I took my sister's family pictures. They turned out really cute! Here are a few.

I'm Quirky!

I was tagged to tell 6 quirky things about myself and tag 6 others to do the same. Here we go...

1. I hate pruny feet and fingers that have been in water for a long time. It gives me the chills. Just writing about it gives me chills. If we are in a hot tub or a swimming pool Grant can't touch me until his feet and fingers are back to normal.

2. I have panic attacks when I go grocery shopping or clothes shopping. I am so worried about what I am spending that I start to sweat at the check out stand. I almost always try to put it off. It drives me crazy!

3. I can memorize every price of every item in a full shopping cart to the penny. I drive the people who check me out crazy by pointing out all the wrong pricing.

4. I don't like desserts like cakes, pies, cookies, chocolate, or donuts. I crave hot tamales or soft chewy sweet-tarts.

5.I love to plan the least expensive exotic vacation I can even if I am not going on it. I know tons of travel websites and I get deals emailed to me daily.

6. I love to wrestle with Grant and grab his feet when we are running up the stairs! I also love to push him out of the bed with my foot when he is not expecting it. It makes me giggle.

I tag Lace, Leighanne, Jessica, Bre, Becky, and Court.

A Long Weekend in Park City!

So... we finally got some time off together as a family. We have a time share in Park City at Westgate. We love it. We arrived Wednesday night to a mess with our reservations. They didn't have us in the right room. They were booked solid and decided to give us the presidential suite for the week. What a blast! I don't remember when we really let down and relaxed like we did this week. I love being together as a family. We laughed and giggled. We stayed up late and watched movies and ate all kinds of junk food. We also played monopoly until the wee hours of the morning. Of course I won! We also had my mom up for a day. We shopped in down town Park City, swam, played ping-pong, and of course went to Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. That is always a family tradition. Here are a few pics!

Awesome View!

Bre,Grandma, and myself had a blast trying on fun hats while shopping!

Family Pictures!

So I decided to attempt to take my own family pictures this year. Anyone who knows me knows I freak out about family pictures. What we wear, the weather, where we will take them, etc. This year was different.... knowing I was taking them helped me to relax. I knew if they didn't turn out I could always to do them again. So, Sunday after conference I told them to put something nice on we were heading to Ogden. That's right...no deciding what we were going to wear until that moment. As you will notice...I am in a lot of the pictures.... that is when a tripod comes in handy. I think some of them turned out really cute. We had a blast taking them. I guess pictures aren't so bad after all. Here are a few of them. There has to be one picture we can just be ourselves in.

Who knew we were musical?

Austin and Marissa both started Junior High learning to play an instrument. Austin already plays the piano and he chose to also play percussion. Marissa chose to play the flute. Having Marissa play the flute touches my heart because I played the flute in the Junior High Band. I still can play flute and it is fun to practice with her. Marissa is becoming better and better. Both kids are in first chairs in band. Here they are practicing together. I love it!

Austin Recieves His Star!

Austin went to his first scout camp and earned the most merit badges of anyone in our ward. we are so proud of his hard work and dedication to the scouting program. we know it will make him a better person. Here he is receiving his merit badges and rank advancement.

Undefeated!

Austin has been paying football this season and his team is undefeated going into the playoffs. They had never been scored on until the final game of the season. They still won 28 to 6. We are hoping they go all the way to the championship game. Austin is such a great athlete. He is good at whatever he does. I am so proud of him. You have to be really dedicated to go to five practices a week. Of course there is a sad note to all of this. Grant referees football and has not been able to See him play once. Grant is an amazing referee who would love to referee college football one day.

House For Sale!

So....We woke up one day and felt like it was time to move. We had been talking about it for years, but I never felt good about it until now. But because of the market we may never sell it and we will be happy staying. It's crazy...... but it just feels right.
