With Grant in Afghanistan I went on a cruise with my brothers and Bre. Bre is a senior this year so I took her for her senior trip. My Brother Rand came with us. He lost his wife a couple of months ago and I convinced him to come. He is so amazing. Here we are in the plane on the way to Miami.
We landed at the Miami airport at the same time as my brother Shane and caught a shuttle to the hotel at the same time. The poor shuttle guy didn't realize there was 17 of us and 25 pieces of luggage. We jammed into his small van sitting on top of each other. Here is a picture of some of us.
Here we are with my brother Ron and his family ready to go to the port to get on the ship. This was there first cruise so they were so excited!
Seriously....Look at the luggage!
Our first meal on the cruise! So much food to eat!
Gross!
Day one...Hanging out at the pool while we are at sea!
A toast to relaxing, sun, and blue skies.
Shane and Burk were choosen for a swim competition. Here they are with their team. Burk is sporting his Harry Potter Cape.
The first night at sea was formal night and 70's night. We decided to dress in DI attire and pretty much make a spectacle of ourselves. We had a blast! There were 30 of us in crazy outfits. My favorite was dancing in the disco and having my brothers dress up as the Village People and lead the passengers in YMCA. Check out the outfits. It is a hoot!
Shane and April looking sweet! Check out Shane's light blue polyester suit and slicked back hair. It is kinda scary. It really suits him.
Awesome blue couch that fit our outfits. We had to take some pics.
Yes....Burk is wearing a kilt. And yes... Shane is checking him out!
The whole group together for a photo moment. What a bunch of NERDS!
Bre posing in her awesome outfit!
Eating in the formal dinning room.
Here they are as the Village People. Ron (Indian), Gay Guy, Gay Guy, Burk(Workman), and Shane (Cop). I seriously could not stop laughing the whole night.
First Port...Dominican Republic .....Samana.
Again we all end up in a van.
I was the last one on the bus and some how I got the front!
Here is everyone else! It was quite the adventure.
A beach in Samana.
Rand is ready to do some snorkling. Seriously...get some sun!
April and Bre chillin out!
Samana was a very poor area. They had very little. It was a very humbling experience.
There were Chickens running around everywhere.
Here is their gas stations. Just bottles in the road. Most drive motorcycles, ride horses, or walk. It is crazy. No rules.
There were dogs everywhere. Bre had to hold this dog. It was sooo cute.
Downtown Samana.
Pictures after our great adventure.
Bre enjoying music from the locals.
Braedon gave the best back rubs on the cruise. We couldn't get enough of them.
Second Port...Tortola. This was my favorite port. It was beautiful. The snorkling was some of the best I have every done.
Eating breakfast on the back of the boat.
Ready to explore Tortola.
We had the crasiest ride to Brewers Beach. It scared us to death. The ride was worth it.
Third stop...St Thomas.
We went on a tour of the island and shopped our hearts out!
This is one of the top beaches in the world. It is called Megan's beach!
A guy we found while shopping.
Here is the coast guard helicopter hoovering over our ship. They had to evacuated a sick passenger in the middle of the ocean. It was pretty cool to watch.
Formal night with the Honey family.
Fourth stop...a private Island. It was beautiful!
Bre, Rand and I went parasailing. It was incredible!
Rand loved it! Bre and I have video, but I can't get it on. Iguess pictures will have to do.
Here Bre and I are showing you how full we really are.
We hated this picture in the dinning room. It spooked us. They looked like they were ghosts from the Tiatanic. We thought at any moment their heads would turn all the way around. We decided we would imitate them. They all looked angry and creepy. It obviously didn't hinder our eating everything in sight.
A day in Miami. We had to stop at the Everglades. It was a blast! I actually ate alligator.
We also visitied the famous South Beach!
It was a great vacation with some amazing people. Memories to last a life time.
