The Funeral

Wow! Time flies since my last entry. Life has been crazy! When you hear what we have been up to you will see why. First of all our sweet father and husband passed away June 29th in his sleep. We gathered that night to plan his funeral. With Boyd's 8 kids and 7 of us kids we compromised and worked together to plan an amazing tribute and program. I had the opportunity to help dress Boyd. It was the second time I had dressed a relative that had passed away. What a spiritual experience. You can feel that the veil is so thin. It's funny how you think the funeral is for the person who just died....I now believe it is for the living. It is a time for us to have an opportunity to reflect on our lives, feel the spirit, and strengthen bonds with family and friends. With little sleep and hard planning the funeral was beautiful. Anyone who attended thought it was the best they had ever been too. With a letter from the first presidency and and a member of the 70's there the spirit was so strong. What a blessing it was to be a part of it. My mother is a special person who is trying her best to survive without her best friend. I am so grateful for the plan of salvation. That if I live worthily I will be able to be with Boyd again.

As you can see it was a huge recieving line! Honey and Gibb Children with Johan.

SNOWIE

The day before Boyd died we bought our family a SNOWIE. We thought this would be a great family business where our kids could earn money for college and missions. So we are trying to set it up and run it as the funeral activities are going on. It was crazy! Trying to get a business license, health inspection, fire inspection, and food handlers permits was really hard. We had a contract to be at the Wal-mart with a fireworks company. Needless to say we were overwhelmed. But now that things have slowed down the SNOWIE is in it's permanent spot down at the Layton Hills Mall. It seems to be working out great. If you haven't had a snowie come on down and try it out.

All Star Game

During the mad rush of the funeral Austin was picked for the all star baseball game. His team made it to the championship game on the 4th of July. He was awesome! He played first base and the outfield. He made some amazing catches. It was a close game, but in the last inning they pulled away with a 10-3 lead and won the championship game. It was so fun!
Austin's grandparents came to cheer him on! We are proud of you Austin!

A day at the beach!

After the funeral we decided to spend a day in the sun having some fun! We love Pine View. It is a great time for cousins to play and relax!

Girl's Camp

After the funeral it was off to girls camp. Because of the funeral I let camp stuff go by the way side while I took care of things t hand. I was a little stressed when all was done with the funeral and I had two days to get things together for camp. Being the camp director is a good thing and a bad thing. If things turn out you are praised if not you feel like you have failed everyone. I began scrambling to get things ready for camp. With a lot of praying, early panning, and many miracles... girls camp was a success. We had so much fun and spiritual growth. I loved having all of my family up there. (except Austin of course who we truly missed) We challenged ourselves at camp on the ropes course. We made or own water slide and pranks were pulled off through out the night. We had a wonderful testimony meeting, we participated in a Joseph Smith walk, and the girls were taught about modesty and preparing for the temple on the Logan temple grounds. The spirit was so strong and the girl's hearts were touched. I was so grateful for the opportunity to be able to be apart of something so amazing. The girls in our ward a so special. I think in the end I had way more fun then the girls did!
Great shooting girls!

Bre is thinking Jack Bower on 24.

Marissa was so scared her legs were shaking, but she conquered her fears!

They made Grant do it blind folded since he is such an Air Force stud!

Having a little summer fun!

After camp we were suppose to go river running with the my sister Diane and her family up at the Snake River, but we were all so tired we decided to stay close to home and have some fun. We started at Seven Peaks Resort ,which our favorite of all the water parks. It was a blast! Then we headed up to Grandpa Bruce's cabin where we went four wheelling for the day. It was so nice to be out in nature. The hit of the day was the rope swing. It swings over a cliff. The kids couldn't get enough of it.It was a little dusty so we wore goggles. Not a bad look!
Check out Austin and Broc. They had to sit in baby seats attached to the four wheeler. They are sooo cute!Diane makes me laugh. She just wants to get in the picture!

This picture makes me giggle. Austin is trying so hard to push his grandfather.
The views were amazing! Good Times!

If things couldn't get anymore crazy..they do!
